I've been to hospital today for my pre-admission medical and my operation (Open Discectomy) is set to go ahead on monday morning. According to the surgeon if all goes to plan I sould be out of hospital later the next day which was a nice surprise.
You should'nt really notice me missing as I've always got a few posts already in draft for such occasions as long as I can teach my lovely wife how to publish posts that are in draft. So keep your fingers crossed for me that it does all go to plan.
The only other thing worth mentioning is that any comments you leave from sunday onwards will not show up in the posts immediately as I'm going to have to switch on comment moderation in my absence to deal with the dozen or so comment spam that I get most days.
Anyhoo, on with the links....

Late Extra: Internet Explorer Unsafe for 284 Days in 2006. Security blogger Brian Krebs has calculated that Microsoft Internet Explorer 6 was "unsafe" (that is, vulnerable to known security holes, with no available patches) for 284 days in 2006 -- more than 75 percent of the time. By contrast, Firefox experienced a total of nine days' worth of insecurity last year. That's surely a good enough reason to ditch IE and switch to Firefox now if you have not already done so. (via)
